“Look deep into nature and then you will understand everything better” – Albert Einstein
Outings are an important feature for the children and are organised on a yearly basis. In previous years we have been on trips to Godstone Farm, Battersea Park Zoo, Crystal Palace Park, Brighton Beach, plus various museums and libraries. We encourage participation in excursions as this can expand a child’s experiences of new environments, which is beneficial to their knowledge and understanding of the world around them.
Babies are taken on regular trips to the park and the local supermarkets. At this stage, we understand that children enjoy touching, feeling and mouthing items, so this provides them with the opportunity to experience sensory stimulation and explore their surroundings under supervision.
These outings are organised with great precision. Safety, clear guidelines and communication with parents is paramount. We abide by strict procedures and always request signed permission slips for attendance, plus emergency information, clarity of any health conditions (allergies, asthma, etc), and disclosure of any medications that may be required. At least one parent must accompany their child on trips.
On the day, an itinerary is distributed with an outline of the day’s events. Lunch and snacks are provided with consideration of any health and nutritional requirements. Transport is arranged through the nursery and allocated according to numbers of those in attendance.
